KATHMANDU, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- Students affiliated to India's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held demonstration against Nepal in far western Nepal on Tuesday, reported the local media house's website nepalnews.com Wednesday.

    At least one Nepali was injured on head by a stone the Indian demonstrators hurled.

    Over 500 Indians crossed the border in Mahendranagar, situated some 515 km west of Kathmandu. Hundreds of Nepalis also gathered at the spot for counter-demonstration. The border area remained tense in the afternoon.

    Both Nepali locals and Indian demonstrators chanted slogans against each other.

    The governments of both Nepal and India had deployed security forces in the area. The protesters demonstrated for an hour with Indian flags in their hands.
