http://www.otizfangel.com/mission.html ('Consider this. In most cases it takes months, sometimes maybe years for organisations to rally a couple of thousand people to any one cause, no matter what it is. Yet every week, Raves, events and clubs the world over see thousands if not millions of people gathering to celebrate the joy of life. This is not rocket science - Dance Culture has the potential to be a huge instrument of change . . .')

Unfortunately increasing numbers of young people are being affected. The first six months of this year (2007) have seen 4 youths aged between 15 and 17 murdered on London's streets as a result of being shot. Shootings are occurring for trivial reasons such as someone thinks they've been disrespected or sometimes are in revenge for an earlier argument or crime . . .')

Lightning Strikes Unlucky Croatian

A Zagreb motor-cyclist was recovering in hospital this week after being struck by a bolt of lightning as he urinated by the side of the road. "I don't remember what happened. One minute I was taking a leak and the next thing I knew I was in hospital," said Ante Djindjic, 29, "Doctors said the lightning went through my body and because I was wearing rubber boots it earthed itself through my penis." (Ananova) Mr Djindjic's lucky escape reflects data presented on NASA's website, which as well as revealing that over one in four lightning victims are male, also points out that just one in five people die immediately. However, up to 70% of survivors eventually 'experience residual effects, most commonly affecting the brain (neuropsychiatric, vision and hearing)', NASA said, with most becoming ill much later. Lightning interrupted Glastonbury in 2005, when a beer tent in the dance area was struck during a torrential rain-storm which broke out on the first morning of the festival. Organisers switched off power and delayed the opening by two hours until the storm had passed, adopting a markedly different approach to Chinese promoters who hosted Paul Oakenfold at the Great Wall of China in 2001. "The party started at sunset and went to sunrise, and halfway through it started raining," Oakenfold recalled in an interview after the event. "I must admit we panicked a bit, but the Chinese loved it, because rain means good luck and they were all dancing with their faces turned up into the sky," he said.

Avoid all metal objects including electric wires, fences, machinery, motors, power tools, etc. Unsafe places include underneath canopies, small picnic or rain shelters, or near trees . . .')

The tree may help you stay dry but will significantly increase your risk of being struck by lightning. Rain will not kill you, but the lightning can! Do NOT seek shelter under partially enclosed buildings. Stay away from tall, isolated objects. Lightning typically strikes the tallest object. That may be you in an open field or clearing . . .')

Noise Criminals' Barry Manilow Punishment

Noisy neigbours in Fort Lupton, Colorado, are being forced to listen to the Carpenters, Dolly Parton and Barry Manilow for one hour continuously, under a new scheme introduced by court officials. "When you have a person playing rap at extreme volumes all over the city, and they have to sit down and listen for an hour to Barry Manilow, it's a horrible punishment," Judge Sacco told reporters, adding that criminals subjected to the penalty rarely re-offend. The easy listening crooner started his career playing piano in New York's notorious sex club of the 70s the Continental Baths, the same place Frankie Knuckles and Larry Levan learned their craft before going on to invent house music. More recently he made the papers for being a follower of Eastern philosophy 'nine ki', a Feng shui style disccipline which followers use partially to determine which directions to travel in on certain days. British pop star Boy George is also a keen follower, Daily Telegraph writer Tom Leonard revealed last year, in a personal account of the superstar DJ's unconventional travel arrangements. "He just stays at home in east London and blasts his neighbour through the walls with his feng shui-positioned hi-fi speakers. "Leonard reported last May. "Funnily enough, I happen to be that neighbour," he added, "But dwelling on it won't do my energy levels any good."
