Well...there will be voting for the CA elections, so in a sense the elected officials do have the mandate of the people. But now it seems that there is no recourse for the monarchy as even the traditionally royalist parties like Rashtriya Prajatanta Party have removed monarchy from their party statute. Unless of course, the King is successful in "pulling some strings" before the day they vote on the fate of the monarchy.
