Their heyday and their end- we can't actually correlate it and call it Karma. There are many ordinary people who meet similar kind of fate in the sunset of  their lives. It is just different phases of life. The body and the mind wears out, and succumbs to many devils which it has been defeating all his life. That is it, I guess.
