To Seiko and anyone who feels that sajha is racist in favor of Newars.

Lot of times we are quick in making judgement of others due to our prejudices which are unfortunately beyond our control - which are imbibed into our system from the time we grew up and started learning what is right and wrong. Racism (castism here) is one of the prejudices that many of us grow up with and knowingly or unknowingly we become victims of the prejudices which were spread by lack of education and mainly ignorance.

Thankfully we don't live in a time when education is scarce. We all realize deep within us that basically we are all human beings, but sadly some of us are unable to shake off the dark prejudices that got ingrained within us by the bright light of education and awareness that we are all just human beings. Another factor fueling this dark practice is the human character of wanting to find a deeper meaning of life and consequently needing to feel important. One way of feeling important is by proactive positive actions which makes one feel better. Another way is to feel important is by classifying other people belonging to different caste/race/creed as less important than ones own group, thus automatically being more important than others.

Personally, I don't feel a need to feel more important than certain other castes, nor do I feel a need to be intolerant of anyone because they were born in a certain family/culture/country. If you are a good human being with nice human qualities, you have my respect. There is no need to classify you further. If you are a Nepali, then it's more fun because we share similar background in similar places, and we share a common love for Nepal - hence the reason sajha exists - to bring us together. If I am here to promote Newar and diss Bahuns, believe me, the time I spend on sajha is not worth it. I don't like to waste time on negativity.

If I delete a thread on Newar bashing as opposed to Bahun bashing, it's not because of my prejudice, but the prejudice of the thread originator. However if someone shares news items from other sites about some controversies surrounding a certain group of people, then in my opinion it's more about sharing news and opening sajha to a respectful and tolerant discussion than being outright racist. If you see that kind of threads as racist then perhaps you may need to reconsider your own prejudices. Once the discussion takes racist turns then I may have to moderate it, or the thread owner can do it as well.

Pardon me for going on tangents here but this is solely my opinion and please do feel free to disagree, but please don't start outright racist threads.
