?
just my opinion,
when I was graduating from college, I sent letters from college about it to have my mom present during the interview. I believed it helped.
And event such as child birth, for some people is a very joyous and important family event. And have one's mom around might mean a lot to some people.
If I were the counselor doing the interview, I would consider this a very good reason to issue a Visa. All things remaining equal.
I would cross my finger and hope the Counselor has very good family values...or your mom could let the counselor know how important it is to you
