Culturally speaking, Girija doesn't have the rights to worship Kumari because he is not initiated. [I don['t know how to translate "dikshya" in English, so those with better knowledhe of English help me. ] I don't know how things work outside of Kathmnadu, but in Kathmandu, newars and bahuns, have a tradition of "mantra sunne" and getting "dikshya" that makes them eligible to worship certain "yantras" and "dieties". Girija does not have it, and that makes him uneligible to worship Kumari as the head of state. Of course this all sounds quite regressive in our new "pragatiseel" Nepal, but I believe certain cultural traits should not be discarded just because the leaders don't have any knowledge of Kathmandu's "unique" culture. Feel free to disagree. On a posting spree today!!!!
