I read this last night on NYT. Now that there's no Times Select, I have started to read NYT again.
However, I don't find anything new in this piece. He has been saying this for a long time now. Some of the lines actually seem straight out from (ok praphrased from) a Joseph Nye piece on "America Losing its Soft Power" that was published maybe 3/4 years back on NYT. Coincidence?
