wow! you reminded me of my own journey to the place many years ago. the trek to 'Gosain Kunda' is easily one of the most exhausting and challenging ones that i have done so far. the moment you reach the lake gives you such a divine feeling -- it's simply out of this world!
i was a rowdy teen when i did the trek. it was not a planned trip whatsoever for us five friends. we decided to go there a day after we had a pretty somber day having to do nothing as the summer break had just started. oh..the adrenaline rush ..we started without proper body armors (jackets) let alone sleeping bags :P...we thought worst case, it could only be slightly difficult, if not similar, than the walking trails to 'manakamana' ...haha....next thing we realized, we were going to climb a half of the height of everest!!! but by then we were already in cholang pati...haha ....man!!! memories!
well written. i wish you could elaborate it a bit. you missed an important landmark--Lauri Binayak-- towards the end...also, easier to comment on, but if you had explained the beauty of the "kundas" --gosain itself, the nearby ones like saraswati kunda and others and their mystic surroundings, would have been perfect icing on the cake.
good job nevertheless
