There are so many funny questions and weird hypothesis people are raising here after Prashant won the title. I do not really feel responding to those threads. The motive behind such funny threads could be anything, but mostly these people are not celebrating with Prashant's win because they don't feel they share his feeling.

In this thread, there are two different issues mixed together - one is about raising the flag and another is about madheshi vs pahadi people. These issues shouldn't be glued in a well-informed discussion.

Before raising question about the use of Nepalese flag elsewhere, we should recall the history of Nepalese flag and Indian flag. Nepalese flag is a partl of our culture. You can see double-triangled flag with half-moon and the Sun in temples, monuments etc. that were built before existence of current political boundary of Nepal. The flag is involved in many rituals and cultural activities for centuries. The same flag was adopted as the national flag later on when Nepal applied for UN membership. So, this flag was and is the proud flag of all Nepalese living elsewhere in the world who share common culture with us. Officially it was registered as Nepal's national flag only about 5 decades ago. Therefore I believe every nepalese origin people do have equal right to carry the flag and cheer with that cultural pride no matter wherever they are living in the world. If we do not have problem with Nepalese origin people speaking our common language, wearing our common costumes, playing our common musics, celebrating our common festivals, then why should we have problem with cheering up with our common cultural flag?

On the other hand, Indian national flag was designed, proposed and approved as the flag of India several years after Indian independence. Current form of Indian flag did not even exist when India got freedom from british reign. Mahatma Gandhi and Bhagat Singh used to cheer up with a different flag than the flag we see as the Indian national flag these days. Pakistan and Bangladesh, ruled by the same British under the same occupied India, do not have any tie with current Indian flag. India and Pakistan developed their own flags. The indian national flag was never been associated with any activities of our Madhesi people. So, if any madhesi people start cheering up with indian flag, then that is definitely a serious offense against Nepal, whose officially adopted flag is a different one.

The fact to understand is the Indian flag represents Indian national pride and the Nepalese flag represent Nepalese cultural pride for all Nepalese spread over the world as well as Nepalese national pride for those who are associated with Nepal's political boundary

While talking about Madheshi vs Pahadi people, I think none of genuine madhesi people want them to attach with India. There are genuine causes for Madhesh to revolt against the long-lived oppression, which are being blamed to be fueled by India for some political gains. But the truth is that, Madhesi people are as patriot as any other nepalese if they need to stand for Nepal. Many pahadiya people fail to understand this fact and keep hurting madheshi people by questioning their faith and patriot feeling, which is only harming our national integrity. One recent example, did you guys notice the body language and facial expression of Udit Narayan when he encountered with Prashant in the audition round of Indian Idol? He was excited to talk in Nepalese immediately he found a nepali folk came there for audition, and the warmth message exchanged between these two nepalese heart were not hidden but burst out from their facial expression.

So guys, I sincerely request all of you, do not ever dare to question the faith of madeshi people for their love to our country and do not try bringing conflicts between madheshi and pahadi with hypothetical issues. Let us learn to love all nepalese, respect all nepalese, that will do good to all nepalese.
