Reminds me of what Kantipur's Kaji Bhim Malla's wife said before committing suicide/sati (according to the historians): "NEPAL DARBAR MA KASAIKO BIBEK NARAHOS". And so it has been ever since - demise of the Malla nations, madness of Rana Bahadur Shah, the power struggle between the Thapas and the Pandeys - leading to the rise of Jung Bahadur Rana - followed by Rana Shasan - the farce that followed in the name of democracy after the fall of the Ranas, only to be succumbed to the Panchayat - which, in spite of being idealistic in principal was not practical and turned out to be extremely corrupt. And now this. WE THE PEOPLE OF NEPAL have been given numerous opportunities at full fledged democracy and every time we have eff'ed up. A no-win situation for the janata.
