ok let me tell you something if your friend is legal he can be sponsored and yes he can get GReen card(biggerst piece of plastic that every non green card carrying immigrant dreams after stepping in this wonderland).. there is only one way possible since he dosent have his bachelor degree. No lawyer can give you gaurentee that when you will get the card. Typically looking at current situation it lookks like atleast 4+ years. But you never know its a very sensitive issue and they keep changing process. 1. EB3 - This is considered as a skilled worker category who has atleast 2 years of experice. Now i dont know about your friends case. I dont know when he entered this country? And this would be valid only if he could demonstrate in paper that he had atleast 2 years of experience lets say being a "sandwich artist" or "prep person" or whatsoever...To be sponsored as Manager or some administrative job you would need atleast bachelors degree consult a lawyer for this (preferebly not indian) coz indian lawyers would definately say (ya ya sure sure) Since im not a lawyer and i dont want to go in detail about the process but there is couple of thing i would like to mention... positve factors: Looking at the current situation you friends labor could be approved in a year and he could get workpermit..As you mentioned your friend is in F1 he must be paying out of state tuition if he goes to a public college ,now he could be eligible to pay instate 3 times less.. This is the only good postive factor i could see for a F1 student.. negative factors: You would get stuck with the same employer or the same kind of job.. lets say a year from now.. you hate working at subway and hate making those sandwiches.. now you could possibily change your job but you cant changed your category.. you should apply for the same kind of position anywhere you go.. You would have lot of risk travelling... and since your (millionare owner) who seems very nice and friendly already knows that your friend is going to be stuck with him for another 4 years would use him as he likes... remember he is rich but he earned it!! and if you quit the process you would join the pool of 18 million illegal immigrants.. my personal advice: You have mentioned your friend is in F1.. why does he need to care about green card ? without green card is it impossible to find work or is he unable to pay his tuition? what do you think these 18 million illegal immigrants are jobless? Work your rear off and pay yourself through college first..after that you would easily get job in your field and processing would be rather simple then what you friends situation is at the moment... whatever it might be its up to your friend to decide, so good luck..!!!
