Hello there, It all depends on how long you are going to be there in KTM. If you are only visiting for >30 days then I would recommend against it. Strikes are very common these days and you don't want to risk something important like getting a visa. I would recommend going to Mexico or Canada and get your visa stamped before visiting Nepal. Just to put it in reference, I was in Nepal two-three weeks ago. Because of strikes and closures I wasn't able to get my Bangkok visa and had to sneak to the airport at 5:30 AM in the morning (for my 2PM flight). Be careful and good luck!
