bkb, I am not aware of the education system there. But here in my school we always have two advisors. In case of accident or differences or anything, if we wanna change then yeah we can always do that and work with the other one. We can also appeal. I have seen many of my seniors doing that. It is not very uncommon here in my school. But I am a bit confused about which kind of advisor you mean. Is he/she your project advisor? I know this info will not be that helpful to you.
