STOPTHE WAR, Why are you going to Nepal now?? you'll have to be back again if you want to work here as a nurse. Instead, do the following things: 1. immediately file to extend your visa for at least three months . It's better if you file an extension for a six month period, that way, you'll have plenty of time left to do different things to obtain a nursing license. 2. find a good immigration attorney and discuss the case. he/she will be able to accurately answer your questions and show you the way to go further. I have heard that in California, it is easier for people like yourself to obtain a US nursing lic and file for working papers. I'm not sure how it goes there, but I know that a lot of nepali people have been obtaining nursing lics and filing their cases from hospitals in California 3. check the website provided by one of the noble guys above for further process. also call or e-mail the people there to get a clear picture of how to evaluate your foreign nursing degree and how to apply and take the US nursing lic exams. ask them about the time required to complete the entire process, the expenses that will incur, and ask them about the step-by-step process to do so. I'm sure that they will help you out in this matter. 4. i also had some people i know who ha BS nursing degrees from Nepal. One of them, she first got her Nepal's nursing degree evaluated here and then took the US nursing lic exam. she passed the exam and then she got the nursing certificate to practise it here. she currently works as a nurse in a local hospital hope this helps. if you still have some confusion, reply to this thread. Good Luck!
