When accessing the Internet, various computer applications do a "DNS lookup", which is a way of converting between URLs that are easy-to-read such as http://www.netgear.com with their numerical equivalent. (For www.netgear.com, it's http://12.7.210.242/). Some programs make such a large number of request for these DNS lookups that the router's firewall software treats it as a potential attack. In this situation, the computer making these requests is blocked by the router from the Internet. At the moment, there is no workaround
