You talk a lot of sense Samsara. Well said. One only has to look at how things used to be before the advent of democarcy and how things are now, 17 years down the line, to make a sound judgement - why talk at abstract level which only goes round in circles with no logical end? It has been empirically proven that Nepal was far better off during king's rule than under rule of corrupt netas. What has democarcy given us - the comman people - except plenty of miseries? Democracy has only been a godsend to corrupt netas for it is them who have benefitted the most by amassing collossol wealth through nefarious means at the expense of the country and the people. And look at how an equally corrupt judiciary aquits them one after the another making a right mockery of the judicial system. Recently, the people involved in the Lauda scandal were also exonerated of wrongdoing. The list goes on. Oh, in case you didn't know, the SPAM govt has decided to drop criminal charges against all maoists from top level leaders such as Prachanda and Baburam Bhattarai to low level cadres including the decision to legitimize the 40 odd stolen vehicles used by maoists leaders. The same corrupt netas manage to win elections again and again and again. It's the same corrupt netas who become ministers for the umpteenth time. Also, some of you say that democracy takes time to get better. I wouldn't mind giving democracy enough time to evolve but what is happening is that things are getting even more worse as time goes by. It has been a steep downhill journey since day one. At least there has to be signs of improvement and then probably we could be a little more patient. But where are the signs of things getting better? Things are getting from bad to worse. So, I don't buy that argument. That argument is flawed. Look at the democracies of South Asia, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and for that matter democracies in third world countries; they are all sorry stories. In order for a democracy to work certain fundamentals have to be in place otherwise it can be malignant
