My honest opinion (if anyone cares) is this: we are by nature resistant to change and it will take a while and lots of repeated playing and listening before people embrace it. I wonder how it was like when "Sri Man Gambir" first came out - I suppose we will never know. I like the suggestions for selecting a new anthem but I guess it's too late for that now and they probably wont change it. Perosnally, I liked the lyrics of the new anthem much better than the old one. The language is simpler for one, it is more inclusive and seeks to focus on the people of the country rather than one individual and institution. The lyrics of the old one were almost servile in my opinion. As a Nepali, the new national anthem better reflects what I think of my country than the old one. As for the tune, music is a matter of taste and choice so to each his own. I thought it was okay - I didn't go crazy over it but didn't think it was terrible either. I think people will all "break in" to the music over time. Just my opinion. :)
