Captain Haddock,
I agree. But this book seems worthy of reading once. Not because of the controveries it has sparked but because one of the authors, Mearshiemer is a well-known IR theorist and his book, The Tragedy of Great Power Politics, is one of the unappreciated classics of IR. He has significantly contributed to the development of Neo-Realist theory with his theory of "offenisive realism." He is famous for being bold and writes controversial stuff. I think he was the one who wrote, "Why we will soon miss the Cold war", when everyone was celebrating the disintegration of the Soviet Union.
But I hope this book is less theoretical. Reading theories makes me yaaaaaaawn.
Arnico Dai, K cha?
OK now I know the "edit" function everyone's talking about these days. :-)
