It is sad, that Nepal government will grant amnesty to all who were involved in human right violation, torture, destruction etc during Maoist conflict. Those who died in 10 years were average people. Those who lost everything are average Nepali people. Our so called leaders do not understand the pain/hardship average Nepal went through. These leaders are saying what happened during that time is nobody’s fault and we should not be fingers pointing. I guess, it was OK to kill/hang a head master in Lamngung, in front of students…. I guess it was ok to bomb a passenger bus and kill 50 people in Madi, Chitwan…..I guess it was OK to kill Maina Sunuwar in army custody…….I guess it was to kill journalist Thapa in front of people like an animal. The list goes on. Why our leaders are eager to provide a blanket amnesty? Why our leaders do not want a fair investigation? Just for two reasons: 1) they want to stick to power – even with the help of Maoist; 2) those leaders who were in power during moist conflict, do not want their wrong doing/failure come out.
