H1-B - info and transfer to new company

1. My status online says case received and pending and on April 24th, they (received and) mailed me a notice. However the consulting company, when I inquired about a week back, told me it has been approved and they have the approval letter with them. Regarding the online status that has not been changed by USCIS, their response was they must be very busy with GC processing and so on and so forth and did not have enough time to change the status online. Has anyone been in the situation where their consulting agency told them they have the approval but the online status does not reflect it? Could the consulting company be lying about it? 2. Another issue is, I was supposed to begin my SAP training with them but now, I myself have found a decent job on my own. My training did not start so I looked for job on my own. They are willing to hire me but I do not have the approval notice and in fact I am skeptical about whether or not the consulting company has the approval notice. Has anyone transferred to the new company facing this situation? 3. Is it better to work in the company earning with steady growth prospect or work via consulting agency with potential to earn much more in 2-3 years time. Your feedback please. Thanks!
