I don't watch American Idol even when my whole office is talking about it. It doesn't interest me at all. Initially when I heard about Indian Idol, I thought it was so lame, but once I hear a Nepali contestent was on the rise, I started paying attention. At first I thought, you know what, he's Indian after all, why should I care? But then I though how many time do we, as Nepali get to rejoice a moment like this? If not the perfect, Prasant can become a role model for the new Nepali kids, a police officer who's handsome and can sing. It's not bad for a role model, for modern age. We lack a role model, period. Old corrupt politicians? Muderers? Dictators? Can you name me one that inspired us as a nation to be confident and move forward? We're a nation who's no role model. If not perfect, Prasant should be considered and encouraged.
