Whaaaaa?? $88 for a kg of rice?? How are people at society's lowest strata gonna survive with such an exponential gain (within 2 years) in staple food-grain prices? Crime rate is surely gonna go up once peeps are hungry and have no means besides looting, stealing etc. At this rate, I feel the only hope that remains is that the UN and other forces get involved before we see tens of thousands succumb to hunger and malnutrition within the next year!!
