The quota for h1b opens ever year in the month of April. so in the mean time you can work with the company in your opt status. and as far as the h1b is concerned you can talk to a lawyer they will advise you in detail and will help you file it. if you are an undergrad student than it is little difficult to get h1b due to the quota limitations of 65000 for people from all around the world as compared to the masters which is 20000 just for the us graduates. good luck.
