I believe I need the latest one for my arrival again, but I was confused about the one to be submitted. Is it the first one that I got when I entered, or the ones that I got with approval of my extensions and status changes. thanks. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Makar Tantra Email Posted on 07-19-07 2:58 PM Reply | Notify Admin o far as i understand, you need to surrender all I-94s in your possession while leaving the USA. You don't need your old I-94 while re-entering the USA. Rather, you will get a new one at the time of re-entry. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PunteDamai Email Posted on 07-19-07 3:00 PM Reply | Notify Admin eh, Makar that is my understanding too. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- sona Email Posted on 07-19-07 4:31 PM Reply | Notify Admin houldn't I-94 number be same in each one?? If not, you got a serious problem -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NepTalk Email Posted on 07-19-07 4:56 PM Reply | Notify Admin think I -94 numbers are same and the latest one should be submitted. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rosam Email Posted on 07-19-07 5:23 PM Reply | Notify Admin also think the same..... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- santoshgiri Email Posted on 07-19-07 5:29 PM Reply | Notify Admin he I-94 number remains the same. You need to surrender the initial I-94 along with copies of the recent ones to show the authorized stay in the US. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- bkshres Email Posted on 07-19-07 8:12 PM Reply | Notify Admin es, it is true. I-94 number remains the same. For example, you entered as F1 with an I-94 and later changed to H1B but your I-94 number in your H1B approval is same as your F1 I-94 number. And you should submit your I-94 whenever you leave USA. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PJrules Email Posted on 07-19-07 8:21 PM Reply | Notify Admin hanks Guys, My numbers in all are same. Someone told me that you should keep the latest one and submit the first one and when returning dont have to fill the arrival form but use the latest approval, but he couldn't confirm it. I'm still unsure about it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Makar Tantra Email Posted on 07-19-07 11:01 PM Reply | Notify Admin t is my understanding that you can not use previous I-94 as a basis for re-entry to the USA. You need to have a valid visa unless you have green card or citizenship or any other type of re-entry permit to enter the USA. Once you leave the USA, i don't think previous I-94 means anything to you more than a scratch piece of paper. Forgive me if i am wrong. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PJrules Email Posted on 07-20-07 10:11 AM Reply | Notify Admin eason why I was confused is, one of my friend got his visa (H1B) stamp from mexico. While exiting to Mexico he gave away the the I-94 he had from the port of entry when he first came to US. After getting his visa, while coming back to US he gave the I-94 that comes along with I-797A (H1B approval notice) to the officer, and that was stamped by the officer with arrival record. The old I-94 has our arrival record, while the new I-94, that comes along with status change approval notice, deosn't have the arrival record but shows the validity for stay. I'm not even sure if the new I-94 (from notice) is even considered I-94 as it deosn't have any stamps, I have a feeling that it must just be a complimentarty to the original one, showing you are still valid. I'm trying to browse thru USCIS website, but all it says it surrender your I-94 when leaving. So either surrender both while leaving, or since there is new I-94 (with approval notice) the old one is of no use now, or surrender the old one when departing and get the officer to stamp the arrival date in the new one when coming back. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LSU_tiger Email Posted on 07-20-07 11:27 AM Reply | Notify Admin think you shud give them the one you got when you entered US the last time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- bikash kc Email Posted on 07-20-07 11:57 AM Reply | Notify Admin uring my entry the inspector at the port of entry while tearing the i-94 from main page ,tore some of my numbers.since that was my 1st time entry i didnt speak anything and neither that guy gave that torn apart part attached to the main i-94.later on i contacted the customs and border security(cbs) and told them my problem.after some questions to verify my authenticity, the guy on phone gave me my i-94 number.now i have noted my number. but my concern is does it cause problem in future becos some number are missing becos of tearing?i can tell them my full i-94 number. i m thinking of extending my stay.and i will be sending my i-94 for that purpose ......will it cause any hassles or delay becos of i-94 missing numbers? pls suggest
