if it is one day over 6 months then you can't be reinstated. if you are 1 day less than 6 month then you can still appply for reinstatement. By chance if its over 6 month then the best option would be going to canada and applying visa from there. Never ever apply for reinstatement if you have been out of status for over 6 months. You will have to mail your original I-94 to USCIS and it would never come back if you are not reinstated.
