Everytime I come across some article about Nepal that says ," there are more than 40 languages spoken in Nepal", I get bothered for not getting the exact numbers.It would do some justice to all the languages in practice in Nepal if we could put a number on it. How many spoken languages are there " EXACTLY"? How many of them have their own scripts? Does the Home ministry or any other ministry for that matter maintains any record on it?
