Once a feudal, always a feudal. People like Dixit stresses on humanitarian aid to commoners of the kingdom. Is that one good sustainable long-term solution to the ‘problem’? An aid is no answer; it just keeps the problem alive. If we want a typical western style development, improve the tax system first, generate the revenue, and launch the programs supported by the local income. We hardly find people like Dixit paying any personnel tax yet they own many properties and live like the king....we have many rajas in Kathmandu... On the other those who find poverty in Nepal must not forget that only handful of them are well-off in their own country...hey a 1991 Dodge owner has no better situation here and the world is well aware of the fact that they are in majority here too...
