Hey People... Just a helpful hint to all the Firefox users... first of all I was kind of surprised to see that Firefox doesn't allow blocking third party cookies which I hadn't noticed for a while... and all of you know third party cookies are not exactly helpful for you as they are used to track your activity over the web. Anyways, there is a way you can disable them and i guess it's just one of the advantages of using Firefox; you can tweak it to work it as you want it to... Anyways here is how to do it: * on the address bar of Firefox, type about:config * search for network.cookie.cookieBehavior on the search field. By default the value should be set to 0, which means the browser accepts all cookies. Double click and set this to 1 and this will block all the harmful third party cookies. For more info go to: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Network.cookie.cookieBehavior You can also tweak Firefox for other cool purposes. For more go to: http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9020880 My favorite in addition to blocking third party cookies is this one: as above, type about:config on the address bar and search for browser.cache.disk.capacity. This is set to 50000 by default and if you have 512 MB of RAM or less, set it to 10000 or 15000 and Firefox will consume less memory from your machine. And also set browser.search.openintab to true, and any searches launched from the Search tool bar are opened in a new tab instead of the current tab, which is really helpful. There are lot of other tweaks but these are just some of the helpful ones.
