I agree with Kalam. You can not stereotype people based on the visa status they hold. Just because you come here as a student doesn’t automatically grant you superiority over DV winners or any other individual group for that matter. People come to USA with different motives and they work hard to progress towards those goals. Not everybody needs to go to school or need to work in Indian restaurants. I know students who go to community college for years and years to merely keep their status alive. They are betrayed in both ways: no GC and no education. I also know Nepalese who came here as DV winners and are enriched both academically and financially. Usually, it is difficult for Nepalese from rural areas to qualify as a student due to their limited financial resources. Therefore, majority of the students who come to USA on F1 visas are from cities with good financial and academic background. For DV, however, the only thing that matters is luck. So whoever has the luck gets to come here regardless of his/her locality, age, wealth or education. The differences in behaviors and priorities for F1 and DV are due to these factors. We should try to learn, understand and embrace all our differences and look for lots of other similarities that are present within us.
