NRN Souvenir 2007 The Publication of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) for 3rd NRN Global Conference 15 – 17 October 2007, Kathmandu Global Nepalis for Prosperous Nepal Call for Articles Nepalis worldwide never forget the land of their origin wherever they are. It was with the objective of networking Nepali Diaspora among themselves and with the Nepalis in Nepal that the First Non-Resident Nepali Conference was organized in October 11-14, 2003. The Conference generated tremendous interest within overseas Nepali communities and also motivated the participants to contribute more, in an organized manner, to the well being of Nepal. The overwhelming success of the Conference was manifested in the decision to form a Non-Resident Nepali Association and organize a global NRN conference every 2 years. This global conference provides a forum for Non-Resident Nepalis to deliberate on topical issues of concern to contemporary Nepal as well as the Nepali Diaspora and to interact with the representatives of the government of Nepal in finding ways to maximize Diaspora participation in the socio-economic development of Nepal. Building on this tradition and aspiring to take the Non-Resident Nepali involvement to a higher level, the Third Non-Resident Nepali Global Conference will be held on October 15 -17, 2007 in Kathmandu. This conference is expected to bring together about 500 Nepalis residing outside Nepal and aims to search a meaningful role of Non-Resident Nepalis in a ‘New Nepal’ and provide the contours of the future of Non-Resident Nepali Movement. The “NRN Souvenir” is to be published by Non-Resident Nepali Association in connection with the Third Global Conference.
