This 'LOTA' reminds me of an incident that i witnessed about 7 years ago. I was in a village of Rautahat for some official work related to OXFAM. We had to meet the 'VDC chairman' for that purpose. After having lunch (?) around 9 am in the morning, we were heading towards his house. We met him on the way to his home. He was going for 'Khulla Sauchalaya' carrying water in a 'LOTA'. Obviously, he was characterized with a giant body and big moustache as other 'Pradhanpanchas' or 'Jamindar' in Terai used to be (or how Shree 3 Maharaj Prachanda looks like). Usually, they are accompanied with their 'PATWARIS' (Just like Prachanda is accompanied with his PATWARI Baburam) almost every time. He ordered his PATWARI to take us to his house and requested us to wait until he comes back after his NITYA KARMA. Obviously, it was about to be his lunch time. So, PATWARI started to arrange for his meal outside in his PIDHI (Verandah). When Jamindar (VDC Chairman) came back, he sat down and started to take his lunch (Obviously, it was rice, dal, and some curry, etc). Interestingly, he had refilled the same LOTA with water from his TUBEWELL and put aside for drinking water during his lunch.
