Kiran! We (Me and my wife) have gone through the same situation. We are graduating this July and we applied for OPT(EAD) on 23rd of April, went to Nepal on 26th of April and got back to US on 12th of May. We had no problem. Our I-20s were valid through September and visas through July 2007. I think this helps you.
