Talking to reporters here at Nepalgunj, Gurung said, "We would instead find out ways for a forward-looking solution to the political crisis, as conspiracy from palace is imminent if we leave government." Gurung's hints on the uncertainty of holding CA polls come at a time when the government is under tremendous pressure for early announcement for its date. He, however, said that the eight political parties are capable of holding the CA polls, if they work collectively for the purpose. "Only the Nepali Congress has not shown the courage for it, due to the influence of Hindu extremists and palace elements." When asked about the warning issued by the party chairman Prachanda of protest programs against the government in which his own party is a major stakeholder, Gurung said that it should be taken "normally though it seems paradoxical". "We will think on containing the protest if it goes out of control," he said while answering a query on whether the government would contain such protests.
