I am going back to Nepal at the end of this year... may be sooner. I have lived in US for 14 years. Thats enough. After working here for so long, I felt I didn't give anything for my society, my country. I feel there is a big void in my life. I know this sounds too idealistic. So be it. I know the risk of not having job, etc. So what. I have friends who went back after finishing his/her school in US. They are doing pretty good. Besides that, the thing I miss most about Nepal is being sorrounded by family, friends. We as a human being are happy when we are with our people. As far as work is concerned, it will come. I have known people making $100,000.00 a year in Nepal working with International Companies. (And its income tax free). These days, with advent of internet many things can be done from anywhere. I am very glad to see there are few of us thinking of going back to Nepal. We don't have to think big like: developing the country, taking the country to 21st century, etc. All we need to do is do our work... the country will develop on its own. Nepal will not stay underdeveloped and poor for ever. Its just not possible. Having said that, I don't think its wrong for people to want to stay in West. Its your choice. If you are happy here... thats all it matters. As for me, I am happy when I am in Nepal. Good luck.
