...if it is first offense, DUI is normally a misdeameanor in most states...generally first time DUI offender r released within 12 hrs from the jail with court date...unless u r friend has previous arrest records or if he was also involved in some property damage/accident while driving with intoxication there is no reason why they should put him in jail for 4 days...
