"Cost-free classes at St Xavier's College gave me and my friends what people from our kind of background would never get otherwise - the capacity and confidence to excel," he said, exhibiting his impressive command of English. Under Partnership in Education (PIE) program initiated in 2004, some 900 students like Katawal have benefited from quality education delivered at St Xavier's College. Under the program, students from government schools attend classes at St Xavier's for two hours every morning from grade eight through ten.
