Aye aye captn. It's possible that the writer at msnbc.com has stock in eXXon or other oil companies :) and he's trying to deter people from the Gas Strike. In any case, thinking rationally, the gas strike probably won't have much impact because you abstain one day but you have to make up for it pretty soon. What would really make an impact is if people who drive cars make an effort to take public transportation to work or perhaps carpool.
