I fear disturbing other Sajha Kurakan’ seminars like ‘Let’s Count PhDs’, or psychoanalytical sessions like ‘My GF is Getting Married’, but forgive me for doing it one more time. Not doing so will be unfair to so many people who have appreciated this piece. SITARA, I need to learn a thing or two from you. Seriously! I have heard people mention your name in the past, but I have not seen any of your postings of recent. I remember reading a world-class poem that you had written after enduring a fender-bender. How creative do you have to be to write a poem after a mishap like that? I too was involved in a fender-bender couple of years ago; the only thing I wrote afterwards was a letter to the insurance company. I could not have explained my own story the way you did. Thank you. Unless you are looking for a publisher, you need to come back to Sajha as a writer. Did you mean you have been teaching this for the last four semesters? Judging by the quality of your writing, you must be teaching this. foolsparadise: You have no idea how much I appreciate your comments. You absolutely seem to know what you are talking about. This is exactly why I write in Sajha. You said: Avoid imposing your opinions/cynicism through the narrator. Some of the times, I do it for the reasons SITARA masterfully clarified. Other times, as SUUNYDEV mentioned, though it sounds preachy, I could only do it as part of the narration. And you are absolutely right, there are times I am simply wrong to do it the way I do it. For example, somewhere in the story I have written, “She was a minimalist when she was not a recipient”. I did not need to do that as a narrator. That was cheap. I got greedy there. I should have exploited Sameer’s character to bring that point forth. You are right. I promise I will spend extra 25% of my writing time to avoid those shortcomings in the future. Why do I have a flavor of an essayist? I write essays all the time. This will be tough for me to overcome. But I will try to separate that from my creative writing. Thank you for the tip. This is why I write. I seriously think you should be prosecuted for writing Tolstoy and Sum_off in the same sentence. Nectar: I used to be near AU, but I moved to Virginia couple of years ago. You can always send me an email if there is an event. I will attend if I am free. Thank you for a very articulate approval of my posting. Tamang_Lady: Thank you for sharing your personal story. I have a question: from the US immigration point of view, how difficult is this adoption process? CaMoFLaGeD, I agree I need a new thread for the final part. What kind of tea were you drinking? Audrey H: Thank you so much for your kind words. And thank you for the promotional effort. I agree I need a new thread for the final part. Please keep on writing. You write well. See, I told you I do reserach on people who are kind to me. YACC: I have a similar story in the final part. Thank you so very much. SNDY: How can you be wrong? You are one of the reasons I write. Contour/uptowngal/ocenus/Cleopatra/thapap: Thanks. Gidilat/gahugoro: Thank you for making my story more interesting than it was. Loved your arguments. Captain Saaheb: You indeed write very beautifully. You seem to be one of those people who draw other people around them during a gathering. I get that likeability vibe from you. It’s quite magnetic. Your ability to show interest in any topic amazes me. Besides, you are always respectful. See, I do research on people who are kind to me. Nepalonmymind: C’mon, you have already heard everything before. Sum_off: Oops, that’s me. I’m reading the names vertically. Freak_alien: You have become one of those people whose comments I eagerly wait for. Thank you. Chipledhunga: thank you. I lived there when we were in Pokhara. It was some Koirala’s house. Thito: Thank you for sharing your story. Hope the guy who works in your kaka’s ‘baraf’ factory is decent. Gundrukkojhol: Enjoyed reading your comments. You made me chuckle. Timetraveller: you have always been very kind to me. Your own account touched me. SunneyDev: You have heard it before that I value your response. Tyra: Thank you for dropping by … I really don’t know whether I enjoy writing more or reading comments like yours. If I were in therapy, I would have said, it is the latter. Npl2us: Thank you so very much. John_Galt and Loote Bhai: I have already thanked you in my previous reply. Sorry if there are typos here. I wrote quickly.
