Appreciation first … John_G, Your modesty shames me. Eight or so months ago I remember reading one of your postings. It was a commentary on the sorry state of Nepali music. I still consider that the best commentary I have read in Sajha—and certainly one of the best in Nepal’s context beyond Sajha. I was so impressed that I occasionally browsed Sajha just to read you. I have read some of your other postings and I am a fan. It is a human nature to compare and contrast. Sometimes I read essays on nepalnews.com by guest columnists. Many of them write because they are fascinated by the prospect of seeing their own photos in that website. But when I read you, I feel like you write because you are passionate about writing. Your writing is quite natural. Beyond that, you are a good man. By posting long stories, it seems I am losing quality readers like you. Tyo ta malaai nikkai ghaataa po vo ta. The irony is; I started posting long articles because I wanted to filter out non-readers; not people like you. Loote Bhai, You made my day. I never had anyone deconstruct or reconstruct my writing like that. When people dissect the content of what I write, it makes me want to write more. I owe you for that. You were right on the money with your observations. It is so much fun to write for people like you. If I have ever written a perfect sentence, this should be it: “Dhaney!” Once he yelled his own name, because he wanted to feel, how it felt, not to be Dhaney. Thank you for noticing that. And thank you for reading it for the sake of enjoying it. Makes me wanna write again.
