The whole Manang and Mustang area is scattered with caves that for centuries, as legend goes, Tibetan spitirual gurus used for a life of recluse and meditational purposes. e.g: MilaRepa's cave in Manang is one famous destination drawing hoardes of devotees every year. He was estimated to have meditated in the area around the 11th century AD!! BTW, there were many others before and after this great free spirit who meditated in the caves around this area for attaining Buddhahood and these caves when found could be laden with antiques. As time goes by, there will slowly but surely be more such caves found!!
