Well, I am no agent of any company, neither intend to be. I have some experience in this area, that's all. 1. If you are already in the US, you don't have to go to any service agent to do all these stuff, unless it is free forever. 1. Visit http://www.ncsbn.org Find the contact address of the state board of nursing where you want to apply (if you have B.Sc. Nursing from Nepal, I suggest you to apply in California and few other state which don't require CGFNS certificate to apply for NCLEX-RN; if you have only I.Sc. Nursing, may Colorado and New Mexico could be of your interest). 2. Ask the state board of nursing to send fingerprinting cards to your address and download all application materials from the website. Fill in the forms, take the fingerprint from nearest police station, attach money order and send completed application form to the state board of nursing. ($150) 3. Send the verification of nursing license and transcript verification forms to Nepal and ask one of your relatives to follow up that these are properly sent. ($100) 4. Wait for few months to hear from the state board of nursing about your application. Utilize this time to prepare for the test. Once you are eligible to take the NCLEX, they will ask you to register and get ATT. You will also register at the Pearson VUE. ($200) 5. Go to http://www.cgfns.org and download VisaScreen Certificate forms and do as instructed. This process can be started any time, even before taking NCLEX-RN tests. ($400). 6. Prepare for the English test (TOEFL iBT or IELTS) and take it as soon as possible.($200) 6. Well don't loose your NON-Immigrant status. There is no working visa available for Nepali nurses until new immigration law passes. No H1B either. If you are in Nepal, start the same process from Nepal, when it is time to take NCLEX-RN test, select center in India or Hong Kong (extra $150 for international location). Once you pass both NCLEX-RN and English test, contact employers/agencies in US for green card sponsorship. Remember, filing for work permit itself costs about $2500 in government fees and $4000 in attorney fees. Who is going to pay for that? As I said, I am not any agent to any company, however, I know some of the companies who reimburse all of your costs (application fee, visascreen fee, ATT whatever is required), pay for the attorney fees (file themselves), pay for your relocation (airfare and one month free accomodation). How do you pay back to them? Simply they will ask you to sign a contract that you will work at least 24-30 months for them. That's all. They will get their money back from the employer directly. Scared? Will they cut from your salary? Is $30-$40 /hr salary too bad for you? They don't deduct anything from your prevailing wage. It's because hospitals have hard time to fill their RN positions, they will be willing to pay extra $20-30,000 for the agencies who bring in nurses for them without reducing your paycheck.
