The Nayapatrika National daily disclosing this secret meet claims that CoAS Rukmangad Katuwal met Nepal’s King Gyanendra after meeting the US ambassador James F. Moriarty the same day. The US ambassador James F. Moriarty had arrived in the Nepal Army Headquarters in Kathmandu at exactly 1:00 PM on Friday. Seven hours after his meet with the US envoy, Rukmangad Katuwal headed for the Narayanhiti-Royal Palace, where he stayed for over an hour and half. Later, the US ambassador left for his home country who is set to brief about Nepal's political situation in Washington. The Nepal Army spokesperson Mr. Ramindra Kshetri, however, said he was completely unaware of this alleged meet between the Nepal Army Chief and King Gyanendra, reports Nayapatrika daily. Country's Finance Minister, Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat, as asked by reporters, on this meet also remained unaware and claimed that no such things were discussed during the cabinet meet, the newspaper reports further.
