Why these communists want to take the power of people in their hands repeatedly? Haven’t they done enough damage to the world thinking that they are gods to people? Even after knowing that communists have always failed in the world these power mongers want to sacrifice more people for their personal agendas. Isn’t 9 million Russians, even more Chinese, along with 14000 Nepali blood enough for them? Could someone pleases tell them that removing Monarchy is equal to replacing it (Monarch) with a democratic process, which is again subject to the will of the people through constituent assembly polls. This in no means is synonym for replacing Gyane with Prachandaa and the people to be the slaves of their communist masters. Yet they have guts to talk about right and left. Could someone tell them that right means the political right and they believe that the will of the people through voting is supreme! We do not believe in Leninist style propaganda and slaying of people especially child solders is a way to go for a republic. If he wants a republic then we will have a voting for it and the people (not him or me) has a right to decide the future of Monarchy. Why is this bastard so scared anyways? What has he got to be scared about? ********************************************************** Maoists threaten to unleash indefinite agitation A senior Maoist leader Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said the Maoists would launch the third wave of indefinite peaceful agitation if republic is not announced by the first week of Jestha (third week of May). Senior Maoist leader Dr. Baburam Bhattarai (File Photo) Addressing a programme organised by Gorkha-Kathmandu Republican Forum on Saturday, Dr. Bhattarai said the Maoists were preparing for indefinite agitation if the parliament does not announce republic by then. Meanwhile, talking to Nepal FM on Sunday, Dr. Bhattarai said that the Maoists would first try to strike unity among the eight parties failing which they would go for announcing the republic through the parliament, the government and the streets. Responding to comments that announcement of republic through parliament could violate the constitutionally-stated provision (of deciding the fate of monarchy through the first meeting of elected CA), Dr. Bhattarai said that all the recent agreements including the interim constitution were the result of understanding among the political parties regarding how best to end the monarchy. And this can be altered to reach the goal, he indicated. He said the Maoists were not attempting to forge unity among communist forces alone. "This will be a larger unity among leftists as well as other republican forces. We do not want to send the message that there will be polarisation between leftist and non-leftist forces," he said. Dr. Bhattarai said, "This is not the time to go for polarisation between leftist and non leftist forces. Rather we want to go for polarisation between republican and non-republican forces." Regarding the stance of Nepali Congress (NC) and Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, Dr. Bhattarai said NC will not survive if it does not embrace republic. "We feel Girijababu (PM) is in two minds – he faces pressure from those who say that the party cannot survive without republic and others who say that NC cannot survive in the absence of monarchy. We find him making balanced remarks. But based on our various consultations, we believe that deep inside, a clever person like him fully understands that it is only in republic that there will be future of him as well as his party," said Dr. Bhattarai. nepalnews.com sd Apr 29 07 *****************************************
