I am not one to celebrate this diwas or that diwas but I definitely think the day should not be belittled or minimized. For god's sake a civil war has come to an end, and yes, while people are still dying, the death toll has decreased significantly as a result of the end of the civil war. There is a political process in place, albeit a slow one, to charter a new course for the country and I personally feel there is reason for hope. There may not be much to celebrate yet but it certainly is a moment for pause and reflection.
