"This is a story of two different generations, not two different cultures; we witness ourselves and our own Gogol everyday, even when we are not ethnically Indians". I think it is of both. For those who are unable to grasp the cultural clash portrayed in the movie, they can certainly relate to the generational clash exhibited in it. For many of us, though, particularly those of South Asian origin, and perhaps for all other Asian immigrants, we could relate to both aspects of struggle to adapt and assimilate. To say the movie was great would do injustice to the marvel of Mira Nair, Jhumpa Lahiri, Ifran Khan, Tabu, Kal Penn, and all others involved int he making of it. The movie was simply out of this world, beyond wordly adulations.
