fu(k all this dissing bullsh*t and get on with you lives, wannabe netas. We're all friggin individuals and are responsible for our own actions...you can't go around blaming the whole race/society because of that. Ya'll gotta move on with your narrow-minded ways of steroetyping people in the same category as damn vegetables. And fuchhe, what type of a sicko topic is this, you ethnocentirc racist whacko? "Newars' Role in New Nepal?" Ask what would be your role as a Nepali in a new Nepal. Don't encourage communalism when there is no real major difference at all. Hope you're outta your cave from hibernating since the 60s and realize that in today's Kathmandu, young Bhotays, Bahuns, Newars all dress alike. They all speak a common language; Nepali, eat at the same establishments, dance away to tunes emulating each others moves at the very few clubs/bars there, study at the same institutions and work at the same jobs. The only major difference now remains religion and that too is slowly being less of a barrier now that inter-caste mariage are more open with society basing more of a person's character on economic power rather than the fact that a person's grand-parents were street cleaners, black-smiths, etc. Like I said earlier in this post, we're all individuals and our character should be based on our merits rather than the history of our predecessors.
