In my econ class I was amazed to learn that the governors working at the federal banks in the US, or some high position like that, earn only like $160,000 or sth per year!!! And mind you, those people are responsible for the supply and control of US$ so that's some pretty serious shit! By Nepali standards that's high of course, but that's probably below average in the US corporate world. Apparently, the people who are in such posts though, aren't in it for the money, they are just passionate about what they do. I wish we had people like that back home. We need someone who is not in it for personal gains as our PM. Also, at the moment, I don't know what to make of the Maoists. I just can't trust them. Prachanda has the blood of over 10,000 people in his hands and I can't bear the sight of him running loose like that.. and running our country!! And if we manage to get a stable government going, they could build an actual east-west highway! It would do wonders for business, as transportation problems (bandhas and bombing of roads included) is holding back the economy for sure.
