DB http://www.kantipuronline.com/kolnews.php?&nid=105621 ---- CIAA writes to SC over Joshi case PR KATHMANDU, April 4 - The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has asked the Supreme Court to assign priority to its application seeking revision of the controversial verdict of the Special Court acquitting Nepali Congress leader Govinda Raj Joshi of corruption charges. In a letter sent to Chief Justice Dilip Kumar Poudel on Tuesday, the constitutional anti-graft body has argued that if its revision application is not given priority, the precedent set in Joshi's case is likely to affect other corruption cases being considered at the Special Court. The CIAA took the initiative as it is losing high-profile corruption cases one after another in the Special Court due to the precedent set in Joshi's case. Supreme Court spokesperson Durga Prasad Dawadi said the Chief Justice would take necessary decision on CIAA's request after studying other similar cases at the apex court.
