texan girl.. seems like the indian consulting company that you have H1B with, is not competitive enough for marketing. what you can do is talk to other consultancies who has better marketing. u can tell them that they can take some money off your salary and place you anywhere. you billing rate will be pretty low. but its ok to start with and afterall you will have better chances for other projects after the first one. You better check with companies in east coast (NJ, NY, VA) and west coast (CA). Coz they are local to the IT hubs in the USA. Still there are hassels involved but something is better than nothing.
